THE DADS
RAY [Melody’s Dad]
Ray has no dance experience. It’s hard. It’s really hard to learn. He didn’t think it was going to be this hard.
GLENN A. [Kim’s Dad]
Glenn danced competitively as a teenager in the Phillipines. But now he does it just for fun. He’s ready to go.
BERT [Samantha’s Dad]
You would think with Bert’s backgorund as an athlete all through college that he would have the coordination for this. But the answer is, “No.”
KEVIN [Paris’ Dad]
Kevin thinks dancing on stage is like jumping out of an airplane. He’s never jumped out of an airplane, but he imagines that’s what it’s like.
DAVID B. [Bella’s Dad]
David’s mother was Puerto Rican, and in a Puerto Rican household a man, in order to be a man, must know how to dance.
JIMMY [Melissa’s Dad]
Jimmy’s daughter is graduating and leaving the dance studio. This is his last chance to get on stage and dance with her.
EVAN [Emma’s Dad]
Evan is feeling confident about the performance. Confident it’ll look ridiculous, but confident.
LEONARD [Erica’s Dad]
Leonard is the only guy who goes to yoga and comes out more stressed. When it comes to dates, he likes the medjools.
MIKE [Lauren & Mackenzie’s Dad]
Mike loves sports and hoped to share that passion with his daughters. Instead, they shared their passion for dance with him.
TOM [Nadia & Monica’s Dad]
Tom is very proud of how hard his daughters work at things. He tries to joke around with them, but he is still dad.
IKER [Veronica’s Dad]
Iker’s kids are both professional dancers. They’ve graduated from the studio, but since he’s married to the director, he remains a Dancing Dad.
DAVID K.L. [Taylor & Makena’s Dad]
David tells his girls, “If you’re going to be a tree, be the best tree you can be.” As a Dancing Dad, he’s aspiring to be a tree.
GLENN L. [Johanna’s Dad]
Glenn, like the rest of the Dancing Dads, believes there’s some Fred Astaire in him. But the reality is he’s not that good.
DARIN [Hannah’s Dad]
Darin is a former proefessional figure skater. So, he brings a skill that none of the other dads has: the ability to do a cartwheel.
OLIVER [Emmie’s Dad]
Oliver agreed to dance only if his girl promised not to make fun of him. She explained, “Daddy, that’s the whole point!”
